The Canadian Self-Employed Persons Program is designed to those individuals who have relevant experience in cultural activities, athletics. Applicants must be willing to establish a business that will create employment for themselves.
Applicants must have a notable contribution to cultural activities or athletics.
Eligibility: Employment, funds, and points
Applicants need to meet several eligibility criteria to get the visa:
Must have at least 2 years experience of self-employment in cultural activities or in athletics, and participation at a world-class level in cultural activities or athletics.
Must have sufficient funds to support the dependents upon their arrival
Must have the ability and willingness to establish a business that can generate self-employment
Must be able to make a notable contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada.
Must get sufficient points in the selection factors to meet the pass mark. The selection factors include points awarded for:
Proficiency in Canadian official languages (English and French)
Adaptability factors (such as ability to retrain)
Eligibility: Language skills
Applicants should show his/her proficiency in English, or French, or both languages. To prove this applicants must provide test results from:
The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP), OR;
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), OR;
